Brief : Er Ramalingam is the first Engineer from a family of Teachers .After him all are Engineers & Software Professionals in the enlarged family .Did his BE in Mechanical @ GCT-CBE during 1965 to 68 after his BSc in Physics from St Xavier’s,TLY during 1962 -65 & PG In Business Administration during 1986 & having more than 45 years of Service in Design ,Development Manufacture ,Maintenance ,Marketing ,Business Administration & DFM.Now a DFM & Innovation Consultant coming forward to extend his ‘ DFM Services for Engineering Institutions/Industries ’ .

National Design & Research Forum (NDRF) www.ndrf.res.in published this book during 2014 and it was released by Hon .Deve Gowda –former Prime Minister of India on 21st August 2014 during the second Indian Technology Congress @ Bangalore.
Undertakes Five Day Workshops as a way of DFM Practice Training by adopting ‘Tao of DFM ‘ .This is a honest/pragmatic attempt to move DFM from a mere notion to reality by Synergizing expertise in Manufacturing with Design Talents to Energize Young Engineers with DFM and through simplicity as a Reliable move to remove the gaps between Design & Manufacturability. Done one such workshop @ GCT during December 2015 for PG Students -Manufacturing
The Journey : Started as a Maintenance Engineer in a State Engineering Department for Maintenance of Agricultural Equipments ,moved over to private sector with a medium Industry for Development & Manufacture of Tractor Trailers & did Design & Consultancy Services for an Engineering Group in his thirties by simultaneously developing cast & machined Components by conventional /reverse engineering practices for Textile /Chemical Industries in Tirunelveli and around.
Moved over to Chennai for a Manufacturing Division of Motor Cycles and got equipped with all practices of machine Shops for precision components for Engines & vehicles .Got ‘fished out ‘by a progressive group of auto-components to head a unit for Development & Manufacture of Rocker Levers for IC Engines by reviving a sick unit. Moved out to start a SSI for auto-components’ processing by virtue of having the passion for Entrepreneurship along with a few partners .Quit the non-harmonious partnership to sail the boats on Engineering & Management Consultancy ( see the list of clients )
Attracted towards the Philosophy of DFM – Design For Manufacturability – of Dr David M Anderson –his mentor for DFM-and moving along with DFM right from 2006 .Added innovation on DFM and moving ahead with his own ‘Tao of DFM’ .
